The Mishato tower, the seat of the Council in Mishato.

Mishato City is an independent City-State and enclave surrounded by Lamtsu Capital City, Sorano. The Mishato City State, also known as the Mishato Tower or Mishato Town, has been independent since the conquest of the Misato Kingdom by the Fuka Shogunate in 1300A.D, and is under the exclusive dominion of the Apostle, who is the sovereign ruler of the territory. With a population of 373 and an area of 4 square kilometers, it is the smallest city state on the continent by area and the smallest in the world by population.

As governed under the Apostle, Mishato City, and Mishato as a religion, is a Elective Monarchy, where the succession and cabinet are only changed in the event of the death of the apostle. The rest of the state functionaries all are high-ranking members of the religion, who the Apostle has deemed worthy to serve in the city.

The Council dates back to the 14th century in recorded history and the 8th century in Mishato folklore.

Geography

The Mishato City is a plateau on Tai Hing Island, with extremely flat terrain. The area is snowy almost all-year round.

Landmarks

The primary landmark of the city is the Mishato Tower, which is the seat of the Council, the governing body of the Mishato City and the central authority of the Sect of Misha in Mishato.

Demographics

Economy

The city's economy is very much minor, consisting mostly of donations from believers and entry sales to the area, as well as seasonal ticket cuts from Harmony Rail Transit (Lamtsu) during the festivals. However, in recent years, there has been a significant increase in state-owned companies under the reign of the current apostle.

The city does not accept electronic money, and visitors are required to pay using the universal currency of Emeralds, excluding the ticket for access to the railway station. In recent years, agreements have been made between the Council and Harmony Rail Transit (Lamtsu) for the physical item in exchange for a cut of raised ticket prices when purchases were made using modified ticket barriers.

State-Owned or State-Linked companies

Holy Railroad (聖なる鉄道, Seinaru Tetsudo), also known as Hitetsu (聖鉄), is the state-owned transportation company in the Mishato City, and runs the Daily Mishato Freight Service between Kata Freight Terminal and Mishato Tower Station.

Languages

The primary language of the city is Mishato, in the ancient form instead of the current form. Signage is available in the Mishato Script and in the latin alphabet (to a lesser extent).
