History

Mihara Station opened in 1982 with the set of 5-car (then universal standard 4-car) platforms (today's platform 3 and 4) Island Platforms as the terminus. When the line was extended to Hayakawa in 1998, a second set of platforms was constructed for services in that direction, at the northern side of the current platforms. When the Mihara Line and Ome Line were split from each other's services, the Mihara Line 10-car Express services began, and the western platforms were constructed for the Terminating Express services. The IIzuna Line and Vtuber Park Line trains used the Ome Line tracks for much of their journey, terminating at Mihara. These were moved to terminate at Lamtsu Vtuber Park, and platforms 9 and 10 have since fallen into disrepair.
