History

The Lamtsu Metro is a private company established in 1973 to build and operate subway and underground lines in Lamtsu. The Meguro Line, built in 1973, was the first line to be built by the company. It was built using tunnel boring machines as the line ran somewhat deep. The Yurakucho Line was constructed in 1978.

In 1986, Lamtsu metro was privatised and the Otaki and Ginza Lines were bought from Shimakyu, who had just faced a massive lawsuit after a derailment on the Ginza Line that killed 13 people.

The Rinkai Line was built in 2006 to provide better transport for the waterfront districts of Lamtsu, and planned to complete a loop service with the Yurakucho Line via Misato-Wan-Kita. However, due to issues with Land Aquisition, this plan did not come to fruition.
