Misato Freight Terminal was a Freight Terminal of the MCR (Misato City Railway) and subsequently Harmony Rail Transit (Lamtsu) located in Misato City, Lamtsu Capital City, Sorano. The Freight Terminal was built on the site of the original Misato Rail Yard, which served as the primary depot for MCR trains from 1945 to 1974.

History

The Misato Rail Yard was built next to Misato Station, just south of the border between Misato City and Sora. It has holding capacity for 16 trainsets, consisting of 1 standard engine and 8 cars, with each set being 100m long. During the huge expansions of the railway, the depots for lines gradually began to move to other areas, with the Namboku Line's depot moving to Meguro and the Yamate Line's to Otaki. The Rail Yard kept moving further westwards until it's destruction in 1974 for the 1st Misato Station Reconstruction, which converted the station from it's original form into the form most commonly known, from 1976 to 2022. The extra land freed up by the demolition of the rail yard was used to construct a new frieght terminal, at that time linking to the Mihara Line.

The Misato Freight Line, opened in 1998 as a freight-only bypass to the Mihara Line, allowed freight trains to continue all the way down to Misato 24/7, instead of having to wait for the night freight slots while waiting at Mihara Freight Terminal. The extension of the Misato Freight Line to Kimotsuki Freight Terminal (Now Kata Freight Terminal) reduced the role of Misato Freight Terminal significantly, due to the lack of industrial developments in the area. The double-track line that split off to Misato Freight Terminal was converted into a single-track branch line in 2007.

The Misato Freight Terminal ceased operations on 2nd Feb 2022, a whole month before the 2022 Great Lamtsu Railway Rebuild. The land where the terminal used to sit on was then used for Misato Station Terminal 2. With the shutdown of the Freight Terminal, the branch was scrapped and removed.
