Mishato Tower Station is an upcoming railway station on the Seiyo and Lamtsu Main Lines. The station serves Mishato City, a semi-independent city-state that serves seat of the Apostle of the Mishato Religion. The station is expected to see heavy use during the 4 seasonal festivals of the sect.

Layout

The station concourse is located on the ground floor, and is a short walk from the Mishato Tower premises. The station has 3 elevated platforms, 2 which are only used for Local Trains or seasonal Limited Express trains. At the request of Mishato City, a freight platform was added due to the difficulty of importing items. The station is staffed but does not have a ticket office for Limited Express trains.

History

There was initially no plan for there to be a station in the area, as HRT Lamtsu favoured a simple at-grade line passing through the Tai Hing plateau. However, due to land rights of the Mishato City, HRT Lamtsu was unable to construct the line in that alignment. Several other alignments were considered, including one absurd plan to build a bridge going around the entire island, before an agreement was reached with Mishato City to build a station on the line to service the Mishato City, with a daily freight service from Kimotsuki Freight Terminal. In return, the Mishato Church would fund the construction of the station.

The announcement of the station was met with a huge backlash from Sorano-Misato Railway Transport, who had just completed the Hakone Ropeway from Hakone to Moseushi, and they claimed that this was anti-competitive behaviour that would severely impact their business. Despite their efforts to lobby for the station to be blocked, the government declined their request.
