Galdr

Galdr (plural Galdrar) is a type of song/incantation in Mishato (both the language and the religion) that has observable effects that seem supernatural. The performance of Galdrar, while in theory, scientifically possible for any person for any person to do, only the Apostle (and in rare cases, members of the Council) has been ever observed to succesfully perform a Galdrar, and in extraordinary circumstances, compose one of his or her own. Such events have only ever occured twice in the entire history of the religion, and were instantly followed by a surge in adherents.

In Mishato

In Mishato, Galdr are songs/incantations that were granted by the goddess to the selection of warriors who fought alongside her. They gave the users power to do things like heal others without staves (under dispute) or even bring back one on the brink of death. They were all sung in the ancient language. Only 3 new galdrar have been discovered/composed since that time.

Ancient Galdrar
- Galdr of Release (Canon) C. A.D.200 - Used to awaken an entity from a seal or sleep.
- Galdr of Rebirth (Canon) C. A.D. 800 - Used to heal a person who is fatally wounded
- Galdr of Revival (Canon) C. A.D. 800 - Used to heal one who is comatose
- Galdr of Vigour (Canon in Sect of Misha) C. A.D. 800 - Used to enable one to fight at full strength for 2 days straight
- Galdr of Awakening (Canon in non Misha sects) C. A.D. 900 - Used to awaken the goddess from her second sleep.
Post-Misha Galdrar
- The following Galdrar are only canon in the Sect of Misha
  - Galdr of Retardance (1685) - Can be on fire and be unaffected
  - Galdr of Mithridatum (1887) - Heals one who has been poisoned
  - Galdr of Levin (2022) - Summons Lightning. This Galdr is controversial due to it's ability to Harm and not heal.
