Shin-Haebaru Station is a Shinkansen and conventional line station on the Haebaru Main Line and Seiyo Shinkansen. It is the secondary terminal for the Haebaru Region and is the starting point for all Limited Express services. The Chiba Line also begins at this station.
History
Shin-Haebaru Station was opened with the original section of the Haebaru Main Line as Ojika Junction, which was the diverging point for northbound services on the Fung Yuen Main Line and southbound services to Nishi-Haebaru. When the Seiyo Shinkansen came through to Ojika, it was decided that it would not be optimal to link it to Ojika Station, and instead link it to a new station built further west.
Ojika Junction was then built into Shin-Haebaru Station.
Services
Shin-Haebaru is served by Twinkle and some Twilight services on the Seiyo Shinkansen, as well as all Nantetsu Limited Express trains.
