Central (Chinese: 中環; Cantonese Yale: Jūngwàan) is an KCR managed station located in West side of Joban. The station's main color is pink. The station is a terminus for the Tsz Kiu Line and a stop on the Joestu Line Phase 1.

The station used to be named Central Terminus before April 1997, and would be have been the city centre of what was then Joestu, and platforms would have accommodated 5 cars, though the plan fell through and now only can cater 4 cars only.

History

Early Plans

Central station was included in the Hong Shing Transport Study in 1902, before the project was terminated. It was later redesigned in 1904 when Henry Baker was approached by Sir Edwind Herbert for redesigning. The station would have been a 3 story terminal, and would have looked like King's Cross in the UK, with 16 platforms and serving similarly to British Rail.

Minecart Era

After the plans were completed in 1903, KCRC*JS (or KCRC nowadays) started work on the station, the station was an island platform and had a wooden roof covering the platform. The up line platform would have featured the station concourse and station control room. There was a footbridge connecting both platforms and beyond Central to the west would have been a village and red bridge connecting the Turn Back Siding. When the server was upgraded, no backups of the Minecart Era Server was downloaded, and no screenshots were ever taken of this station, thus the station is lost to history.

MTR Mod Era

After the server was upgraded, Central had a massive upgrade too, the platforms were now 4 1/2 cars long and the station looked much more moderner with smooth stone as it's main block, the station featured pink glass at the platforms and purpur brick slabs as the roof, making the platform 3 blocks high, making it a non-standard platform to the standards of today, in the concourse, to the west side, was the exit to then world spawn and the future Central LRT and to the right would have been the exit to the Narita Southern Line which was never built and the exit was filled up in the end of March, lasting 12 days. The station is also notable for it's absence of a Customer Service Center, which was not required back then, it's also one of the only station is JLP1 to have toilets.

Central LRT Expansion

In May of 2021, k5a15 who was a server regular was encouraged by GabrielAstock to build a LRT System, which was built at Central station, it was a single platform with no TBS at all. Soon when the server was upgraded to the depot update, the Central LRT Broke and due to k5a being inactive, it was left to rot and there was no one to fix it until GabrielAstock made a siding which made a very unreliable service. Soon the entire Central LRT was handed to Rigel Corp including the station.

Tsz Kiu Line Expansion

In September of 2021, then builder KV3603 started building the Tsz Kiu Line of Maiko Rail which started at Central, the platform contained the length of 3 cars and was a single platform, next to the up line of JLP1 and contained a passageway to the platform for easy interchanging, the track out of the station was criticized by many and is one of the worst tracks made in the whole of Joban. The platform and line now having no owner, may face the same treatment as the Central LRT before Rigel Corp take over the operation.

Station Layout

Central has 4 platforms on 3 levels.

The top level contains the concourse and the Central LRT platform and is built on a cliff side next to the River Else, while the concourse is built on top on the Joestu Line Platforms.

The second level is the Joestu Line platforms, being 3 blocks taller then the Tsz Kiu Line platforms and 4 blocks lower then the concourse, it is one of the of the smallest amount of blocks separating a level, being 1 block.

The third level is the Tsz Kiu Line platform, being built on the ground, the western end has 4 escalators connecting the path for the only exit of the station and in the middle there is a staircase connecting the Joestu Line platform for Central South. there is a gateline at the western side of the platform.

All platforms are straight and were built on the ground, and notably the original station ( JL Part ) was built by hand and took 2 days to build.
