The Tokiwa is a proposed Limited Express train service from Misato Station to Central South Station. It's name is derived from the Kanji for Joban.
Operations
The Tokiwa would be a regular service train on the Ome Line when the extension to Central South was approved, running every 2-3 hours. The Tokiwa would stop at special platforms at Ome Station, where the passengers would complete immigration before continuing their trip. Passengers could also opt to complete their immigration checks at Misato Station, which is what the customer service stand at platform E is for. The Tokiwa would make use of the new Misato-Mihara viaduct to operate at 160km/h speeds consistently, without the issues faced by older trains. The section of the Ome Line between Mihara and Namae is undergoing speed-up works to raise the speed limit from 120km/h to 160km/h.
The Tokiwa would make use of the new HRT 1000 series trains which had the ability to tilt up to 6 degrees, making operations on curvy lines very possible.
The Tokiwa would stop at Misato, Ome and Central South.
